Disney Lorcana and Pokémon TCG events at local stores
Disney Lorcana and the Pokémon Trading Card Game are two of the most family-friendly card games played in local game stores. Both have regular weekly play and prerelease events for every new set.
Disney Lorcana
Lorcana is published by Ravensburger. Store events include Weekly Play, prereleases, Set Championships and Core Constructed tournaments. Players find events through the Ravensburger Play Hub and its store locator.
- Prerelease Packs started with the Wilds Unknown set in 2026. Each contains 6 boosters, a promo card, a deck box and dice.
- Prereleases run about one week before release, either as Sealed, a 40-card deck built from 6 boosters, or as Pack Rush, a 24-card deck from 2 boosters that suits beginners.
Pokémon TCG
Pokémon prereleases use a Build & Battle Box: 4 booster packs plus a ready 40-card deck and a foil promo card. Prerelease games use 40-card decks and 4 Prize cards instead of the usual 60 cards and 6 Prizes, so they are short and easy to learn. Leagues and prereleases are listed in the official Play! Pokémon Event Locator.
Tips for families
- Prereleases are the best first event: everyone starts with new cards.
- Sleeve valuable cards right after opening them.
- Ask the organizer whether there is a separate age division for younger players.
