Star Wars: Shatterpoint for beginners
Star Wars: Shatterpoint is a skirmish miniatures game from Atomic Mass Games, launched in 2023 with a Clone Wars core set. Each player fields a small team of heroes and villains and fights over objectives on a compact, vertical battlefield.
Building a strike team
- A strike team is two squads.
- Each squad has a Primary, a Secondary and a Supporting unit.
- The Primary unit's Squad Point value is the budget for the other two units in its squad.
- Each squad stays in its Primary unit's era, and named characters cannot be duplicated.
How a turn works
Players alternate. Each turn you draw an Order card that tells you which unit activates, and that unit takes up to two actions. Attacks use eight-sided dice and defense uses six-sided dice, and Force tokens power special abilities.
Current status
In February 2026 Atomic Mass Games moved Shatterpoint to a specialist line. New releases come more slowly while the studio focuses on Star Wars: Legion and Marvel Crisis Protocol, but the game stays supported and in stock.
